SOCIAL PRACTICE

Building a vibrant community through art by being generous, kind, and thoughtful.

In 2020 Jac Lahav helped create Public Art For Racial Justice Education (PARJE) in Southeastern CT. He serves on their steering committee and created the Mini-Murals (now Great Americans Project), a community sourced artwork celebrating civil rights, human rights, and forgotten narratives. Their educational programming received grants from CT Humanities, Community Foundation SECT, Chelsea Groton Bank and more. PARJE has grown into a 501c3 sponsored group with over 100 participants and 21 cultural partner institutions.

A few of these partners are the Lyman Allyn Museum, The NAACP New London, NAACP Norwich, New London Arts Council, and the Florence Griswold Museum (where Lahav sits on the Board of Trustees and the Collections Committee).

The Observer, Gothamist, and Vice ID (among many others).

In 2017 Lahav opened THE 42 SOCIAL CLUB with his wife Nora Leech. The 42 Social Club is a project space located on a small lake in Lyme CT hosting 3-4 shows per year. They are currently on haitus do to the pandemic, parental responsibilities, and increased demand for Lahav’s artwork.
