Since 2022 Jac Lahav has been making strange and unique artist menorahs. Reflecting on the artists practice of paper mache sculpture, coming from their childhood strange ceramics. These artist menorahs are handmade from paper mache and painted in vivid, layered color, blending ritual object with playful sculpture. Each piece bends the traditional menorah form into something animal, storybook, and slightly uncanny, treating light as something animated rather than fixed. The work sits between folk art and contemporary sculpture, where humor, care, and handmade imperfection are not decoration but the point.
