He received an MFA from Brooklyn College, and a BA in psychology from Wesleyan University. His paintings have been shown internationally including exhibitions at the Jewish Museum (NY), Samuel Dorsky Museum (New Paltz NY), Oregon Jewish Museum (Portland OR), Richmond Art Museum (Richmond IN), Florida Jewish Museum (Miami FL) among others. He has had 3 recent solo exhibition at the Saginaw Art Museum (Saginaw MI), The Longview Museum of Art (Longview TX), and The Florence Griswold Museum in Lyme CT.

In 2015 Lahav started an artist run curatorial project The Midnight Society NY with the intention of bringing attention to weird and under represented artwork in New York City. Their shows have been featured in the NY Times, The Onion, ArtFCity, HyperAllergic, The Observer, Artnet and Vice ID, among others. In 2017 he opened The 42 Social Club, a project space located on a small lake in Lyme CT.
